Oak Run Community History Project:

Sponsored by the Oak Run Community Library

There is more to Oak Run than oak Trees! Oak Run has a history. Right now it is scattered throughout the area in photographs, letters, and family memories. By sponsoring this project the Oak Run Community Library hopes to bring those stories together and give roots to our Oak Run heritage.

We invite everyone in the community to participate in this project. We need the photographs, the letters, and the stories of the people of Oak Run. The Library plans to compile available documentation (documents can be donated or copied and returned) and any stories into a history of Oak Run. This history will be archived at the library for all to see.

What we need:

  • Photographs
  • Letters
  • Maps
  • Published historical information
  • Oral histories
  • Anything else you think is important

This project can't happen without your help. We need help collecting, transcribing, and compiling. We also hope to be videotaping those who are willing to be "on camera" at some future date or who are willing to be audiotaped. So pull out your phot albums, old movies, trunks, boxes, and dust off your memories and get them tom us!
